The Philodendron erubescens 'strawberry shake' is a moderately difficult houseplant that requires specific conditions to maintain its variegation. Like many philodendrons, the strawberry shake is a climbing plant that will require a trellis or moss pole as it matures. An elevated humidity and temperature are preferred therefore, as a houseplant, does well in an enclosure such as a greenhouse or plant cabinet. Cumulatively throughout the day, the P. 'strawberry shake' requires adequate sunlight to ensure the plant will produce enough energy through photosynthesis to maintain the variegation levels in future growth.
