Although mainstream vernacular hasn't caught up, the genus Sansevieria is no longer recognized as genetic studies have concluded they fall under the genus Dracaena.

Dracaena bacularis 'mikado' is a compact hybrid snake plant. The primary species, Dracaena bacularis, has dark green leaves with slightly paler light green striping. The name bacularis stems from the latin word baculum meaning stick, rod or staff. The mikado form (i.e. arrangement) adds an interesting fountain-like shape for a more modern vibe.
