Sweetlife Flora Inc. Shipping and Delivery Policy

Last updated: 31/08/2026

At Sweetlife Flora Inc., we take care when packing and preparing every order. Because we sell living plants, plant care products, accessories, merchandise, digital resources, and location-dependent services, shipping and delivery details may vary depending on what you purchase, where you live, the season, the weather, and the product’s availability.

This Shipping and Delivery Policy explains how we handle order processing, plant shipping, local delivery, pickup availability, weather holds, damaged packages, delayed deliveries, and service-related delivery limitations.

By placing an order with Sweetlife Flora, you agree to this Shipping and Delivery Policy.

1. Where we ship

Sweetlife Flora ships eligible products within Canada.

We do not currently ship to the United States.

Shipping availability may vary depending on:

  • product type;
  • destination;
  • season;
  • weather conditions;
  • carrier availability;
  • plant sensitivity;
  • product size or weight;
  • legal, agricultural, or carrier restrictions.

Some products may be available for Canada-wide shipping, while other products or services may be limited to local delivery, or project-specific arrangements.

If a product cannot be shipped to your location, we may contact you to cancel, adjust, refund, or make alternate arrangements for the order.

2. Processing time and shipping days

Our standard processing time is 2–5 business days.

Processing time is the time needed to prepare, inspect, pack, and hand off your order for shipping or delivery. Processing time is separate from carrier delivery time.

For live plant orders, we try to ship on Mondays and Tuesdays whenever possible. This helps reduce the risk of plants being delayed or held in transit over weekends or holidays.

For the best chance of having your plant order included in that week’s shipping window, please place your order by Sunday night.

Processing may take longer during:

  • sales or promotions;
  • holidays;
  • extreme weather;
  • high order volume;
  • plant shipment arrivals;
  • restocks;
  • custom orders;
  • service-related orders;
  • circumstances outside our control.

3. Live plant shipping

Live plants are living organisms and require extra care during packing, shipping, and unpacking.

We pack live plants carefully to reduce damage during transit, but plants may still experience stress from shipping, temperature changes, darkness, handling, and time in transit.

Depending on the plant and the order, plants may be shipped:

  • bare root;
  • potted in an appropriate soilless mix;
  • semi-bare root;
  • with minimal substrate;
  • wrapped with protective packing;
  • with moisture control materials;
  • with insulation or heat support where appropriate.

We choose the packing method based on the plant type, season, weather, shipping method, and what we believe gives the plant the best chance of arriving in good condition.

4. Courier shipping

We use flat-rate courier shipping where possible, including carriers such as FedEx, Purolator, or UPS.

Where possible, we aim for 1–2 day courier shipping. Some rural or remote locations may have an estimated shipping time of 3–4 days. In those cases, we will pack the plant accordingly.

Customers should choose the shipping option at checkout based on the province where they reside.

Estimated delivery times are estimates only and are not guarantees. Once an order has been handed to the shipping carrier, delivery timing is largely controlled by the carrier.

Sweetlife Flora is not responsible for carrier delays, but we will assist where reasonably possible if a package is delayed, lost, or damaged in transit.

5. Shipping costs

Shipping costs may be calculated at checkout based on:

  • product type;
  • order weight;
  • package size;
  • destination;
  • shipping method;
  • carrier rates;
  • seasonal packing requirements;
  • insulation, heat packs, or other plant-safe packing materials.

Shipping fees are generally non-refundable unless the issue was caused by Sweetlife Flora or otherwise required by law.

If additional shipping charges are required due to address changes, reshipment, special handling, oversized items, or customer error, the customer may be responsible for those charges.

6. Cold weather and winter shipping

Live plants can be damaged by cold weather during transit.

If the expected temperature during the shipping period will be below 10°C, Sweetlife Flora will include a complimentary heat pack where appropriate.

Please note that heat packs reduce risk, but they do not guarantee protection from all cold-related damage. Weather, courier delays, rural delivery routes, warehouse holds, and package retrieval timing can all affect plant health.

Sweetlife Flora does not ship perishable items during the winter months, November through March. During winter, local delivery may be available for plants within our service area.

We may also delay shipping live plants when weather conditions could put the plant at unreasonable risk.

7. Weather holds and seasonal shipping

Sweetlife Flora may delay shipping live plants when weather conditions could put the plant at unreasonable risk.

This may include:

  • extreme cold;
  • extreme heat;
  • storms;
  • postal or courier service disruptions;
  • long weekends or holidays;
  • conditions that may leave plants sitting in transit or warehouses for too long.

Weather holds are used to protect the plant. They are not considered a failure to fulfill the order.

If a weather hold applies, we will do our best to notify you.

8. Local delivery

Sweetlife Flora offers local delivery within the Greater Moncton Area where available.

Our current local delivery service area includes:

  • the Greater Moncton Area;
  • the Kent Region, as far north as Bouctouche;
  • Westmorland Region;
  • Albert Region.

At checkout, customers within the service area may see a Local Delivery option. Local delivery fees are typically $5–$10, depending on the order and delivery area.

Please identify your delivery availability in the Special Instructions section at checkout.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information and ensuring the delivery location is safe and suitable for plants.

We are not responsible for damage caused by:

  • incorrect delivery information;
  • no one being available to receive the order;
  • unsafe drop-off locations;
  • plants left outside after delivery;
  • exposure to cold, heat, wind, rain, or direct sun after delivery;
  • pets, children, or other household conditions after delivery.

If you have a concern about a locally delivered plant, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with photos and a description of the issue.

9. Pickup

Sweetlife Flora is not currently offering pickup because our location is changing.

If pickup becomes available again, pickup instructions, location, and timing will be provided at checkout or when your order is ready.

10. Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for:

  • providing a correct shipping or delivery address;
  • ensuring contact information is accurate;
  • choosing the correct shipping option at checkout;
  • monitoring tracking information;
  • retrieving packages promptly;
  • unpacking live plants promptly;
  • protecting plants from weather after delivery;
  • following any unpacking or care instructions provided;
  • contacting Sweetlife Flora within the required timeframe if there is a problem.

We are not responsible for shipping or delivery issues caused by incorrect addresses, missing unit numbers, customer absence, refusal of delivery, delayed pickup, or failure to retrieve a package.

11. Tracking

Where tracking is available, tracking information will be sent to the email address or phone number provided at checkout.

Please monitor tracking once your order ships. Live plants should be retrieved and unpacked as soon as possible after delivery.

If tracking shows your package as delivered but you cannot locate it, please:

  1. check around your delivery location;
  2. check with household members, neighbours, building staff, or mailroom staff;
  3. confirm that the shipping address was correct;
  4. contact the carrier where appropriate;
  5. contact Sweetlife Flora if the issue remains unresolved.

12. Delayed, lost, or stolen packages

Once an order has been transferred to the carrier, shipping delays may occur outside Sweetlife Flora’s control.

Sweetlife Flora is not responsible for:

  • carrier delays;
  • weather delays;
  • missed delivery attempts;
  • parcels marked delivered but missing;
  • stolen packages;
  • packages held by the carrier;
  • delays caused by incorrect or incomplete addresses;
  • delays caused by customer failure to retrieve the package.

That said, if your package is delayed, lost, or appears to be misdelivered, please contact us and we will review the situation.

Depending on the circumstances, we may:

  • assist with a carrier claim;
  • provide documentation;
  • offer guidance;
  • review whether a replacement, credit, or other resolution is appropriate.

13. Damaged packages or plant arrival concerns

Sweetlife Flora guarantees that live plants will arrive alive.

If your plant arrives damaged, or if there is no reasonable chance of revival, please contact us within 24 hours of receiving your purchase.

Please include:

  • your order number;
  • clear photos of the plant;
  • clear photos of the roots, where possible;
  • clear photos of the packaging;
  • clear photos of any visible damage;
  • a short description of the issue.

You may also use the Sweetlife Flora Damage Form

For non-living products that arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery.

Please keep the item and packaging until the concern has been reviewed. We may need packaging photos or materials for a carrier claim.

14. Normal plant shipping stress

Some shipping and acclimation stress is normal and does not automatically qualify for refund, replacement, or credit.

Normal post-shipping stress may include:

  • limp foliage;
  • minor yellowing;
  • minor leaf loss;
  • minor defoliation;
  • bent leaves;
  • small tears;
  • cosmetic blemishes;
  • soil or substrate displacement;
  • adjustment stress after unpacking.

Aroids, Hoya, and other tropical plants may require extra humidity while they recover from shipping. A vented plastic bag, terrarium, or similar enclosed environment may help increase humidity around the foliage. Customers should monitor temperature carefully because heat can build quickly inside enclosed environments.

15. What to do when your plant arrives

When your plant arrives:

  1. Carefully remove the plant from its packaging.
  2. Check the condition of the roots.
  3. Contact us immediately with photos if there is a problem.
  4. Keep the plant in quarantine for 2–3 weeks while it acclimates to your home.
  5. Do not fertilize until the plant has transitioned to its optimal environment for at least 6 weeks.
  6. Monitor for normal shipping stress, including limp foliage, yellowing, or minor leaf loss.
  7. Contact Sweetlife Flora if you are unsure what is normal.

Sweetlife Flora uses beneficial insects as part of our plant care practices, so there may occasionally be nematodes or predatory mites in the substrate. Quarantine gives the plant time to settle and allows you to monitor the plant before placing it near the rest of your collection.

16. Plant appearance

Plant photos are representative unless specifically stated otherwise.

We bring plants into the shop in batches. Each plant of a specific species will be similar to the image shown on the website, but size and appearance may vary.

Plants may vary in:

  • size;
  • leaf count;
  • leaf shape;
  • colour intensity;
  • variegation;
  • growth direction;
  • fullness;
  • maturity;
  • cosmetic markings.

These natural variations are not considered defects.

17. Non-living products

Non-living products may include plant care products, substrate components, decorative pots, books, accessories, tools, merchandise, and similar items.

These items may be shipped where available and eligible.

If a non-living item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos and your order number.

Please see our Refund and Return Policy for return eligibility, final sale items, opened products, and exchange rules.

18. Digital products and online resources

Digital products, downloads, care cards, workshop handouts, Houseplant Academy resources, or other online materials are delivered electronically and are not shipped.

If you have trouble accessing a digital product, please contact us so we can help.

Digital products are generally final sale once accessed, downloaded, or delivered, unless there is a technical issue we cannot resolve or the wrong file was provided.

19. Workshops, consultations, and services

Consultations, workshops, Living Walls, Botanical Glow-ups, landscape design, Therapeutic Horticulture, brand collaborations, and curated environments are not standard shipped products.

Availability may depend on:

  • location;
  • scheduling;
  • project scope;
  • site conditions;
  • service area;
  • materials;
  • consultation requirements;
  • separate service agreements.

Some services may be delivered virtually, some may be delivered in person, and some may be available only within specific regions.

For Sustainable Landscape Design or Permaculture Design services, the current expected turnaround is approximately 3–4 weeks after the initial consultation for a draft design. Each revision may require an additional 2 weeks, with up to 8 weeks possible for the final design drawing depending on the project and revision process.

Service-specific delivery, travel, installation, cancellation, and refund terms may be provided in a separate quote, invoice, booking page, proposal, or contract.

20. Incorrect address or returned packages

Please make sure your shipping address is correct before placing your order.

Sweetlife Flora is not responsible for orders shipped to an incorrect address provided by the customer.

If a package is returned to us because of an incorrect address, refusal of delivery, failure to pick up, or failed delivery attempt, we may contact you to discuss options.

Depending on the product condition and circumstances, options may include:

  • reshipping at the customer’s expense;
  • partial refund;
  • store credit;
  • cancellation;
  • no refund, if the product is a live plant or perishable product that cannot be resold.

Live plants that are returned after failed delivery may not survive return transit and may not be eligible for refund or replacement.

21. Order changes and cancellations

If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible.

We cannot guarantee that changes or cancellations can be made after an order has been packed, prepared, shipped, delivered, or scheduled for local delivery.

For live plants, custom orders, special orders, workshops, services, or curated projects, cancellation options may be limited once work has begun or materials have been prepared.

22. Combining orders

We may be able to combine orders if they have not yet been packed or shipped.

Combined shipping is not guaranteed. If combining orders changes shipping costs, plant safety, package size, or delivery timing, we may decline to combine them.

23. Legal rights

This policy explains Sweetlife Flora’s shipping and delivery practices. Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
